As much as I would like to feel that optimism, I’m more pessimistic every day. Prasad seems to have a pretty free hand, he was appointed to his position for a reason and with full knowledge of his well publicized views; no matter what the inconsistencies in his characterization of the facts, I don’t have any confidence that his boss will rein him in. I was initially confident that this affair would be a fast, quickly forgotten setback, but clearly got that completely wrong.
