SIDE TOPIC: One of the features I really like about StockRover is the ability to set alerts not just on individual stocks, but across an entire portfolio. What makes it especially convenient is that the alerts automatically apply to all current holdings—no need to manually update or set new alerts each time a position is added or removed.

I’ve found two intraday alerts particularly useful: one triggers if any holding rises more than 8% since the previous close, and the other if any holding drops more than 8%. Those are just the thresholds I use—StockRover lets you set them to whatever values fit your own strategy. These alerts give me a quick heads-up on big movers without needing to constantly monitor the screen.

This setup lets me step away from the computer and leave my portfolios alone—unless something actually needs my attention. If a stock pops more than 8%, I may consider trimming. If one drops more than 8%, I’ll take a closer look and decide whether to sell, hold, or add—depending on the stock’s valuation and my conviction.

Besides StockRover, I’m sure there are other systems that support something like this—but for me, it’s been a very useful feature.
