Re: RETIREMENT PORTFOLIO ... Updated 08/02/2025

Retirement Portfolio Objectives:

This portfolio wants to focus on income with a growth element. Ideally, I would like to have the Chowder Number around 10.0, that gives me a nice up front yield with respectable dividend growth going forward.

Dividends and distributions are what fund this portfolio.

This person is still working, his wife is as well, and they both have 401K's and real estate other than their primary address in addition to this rollover portfolio. I only manage the rollover, not their other investments.
======================================

Portfolio Value: $853,803
Annual Income: $45,636
Portfolio Yield: 5.35%
Dividend Growth: (5 years) 5.6%
Chowder Number: 10.91 (need to stay above 8.0)
Beta: 0.81
Holdings: 76

========================================

YTD PERFORMANCE:

Retirement Account: Up +6.56%
S&P 500: ................ Up +6.85%

Basically on par even though the focus has been income.

Note how most of the CEF's are the smallest holdings. I would prefer to own 2 to 3 times more CEF's at a small percentage than to own a few as a large sized position. I want to spread income risk since we know that most CEF's will cut their distribution, but not at the same time.
