Dan-
I'm not sure if this was a joke but when I read it, I felt for my son, and the thought of him buying a stock off an internet thread tout flipped me out. I may have been a little sarcastic in my answer but the gist was, if not a joke, your son should know that if buying stock on good news was sure-fire, we'd all be fantastically wealthy, just for reading the paper. Can you explain if the news was truly GREAT and the stock was going to double or triple, who would sell their stock to you, what risk is, and who the people are that owned it ahead of the news and how the market works, etc. I did not mean to start a debate so deal with your son, not my theory. Why even ask? Did I fall for a joke here?
