The world of patents is highly dynamic especially over decades.

5G was mostly an extension of 4G and based upon that original patent pool. The mix of patents is always changing.

In 2019, we barely recovered the licensing fees which we were due. We ate the impact on our business and the legal cost plus time and effort to collect what was due to us. That game never changes especially if one is willing to settle just to move on.

Seeing a game like that in the future isn't all that hard especially if Cook can't come up with something else to dominate the state of Apple.

Getting rid of Apple sooner rather than later has been Qualcomm's game. That may not happen even though growth will likely be coming from elsewhere.

The person who posted about the ARM battle is astute. One can only fight so many battles at one time especially if one isn't going to be cut throat as to the outcome.

Interesting times are coming ... again.

Who's going to rise up at Qualcomm to lead a 2nd effort diverting battle with Apple? Amon came post 2019.

Phones are getting rather passee. Isn't that also the case for licencing "all" comers to one's best innovations.

Maybe it's time for others to fight for the benefit of using the best.

ps On a daily basis Mark Gurman Is looking more like Alfred E. Neuman.
