While it has been clear for some time the utility-scale storage business is serious, many people have not acknowledged as such until now. Tesla continues to be the premium brand in this space.

However, the ultimate difference between survival and failure is agility and diversification. Some day, someone will invent a better iPhone. Tesla's advantage is that Musk has vision few others have. He is often compared with Jobs, but Musk's vision is much better developed than Steve's -- even though his focus may be lacking in comparison.

For years we've been wandering what the new grid would really look like, and Tesla has solidified that vision and should be lead the way forward.
