Its internal pressure, normally stabilized by neutron degeneracy pressure in a star, might destabilize on Earth, potentially releasing enormous energy as heat or radiation, vaporizing nearby matter and causing explosions or shockwaves.
That's the part I had never realized in all the times I thought of this fascinating scenario.

It would also ruin a Sci-Fi idea I had once that revolved around prospectors in space hunting for "neutron star ejecta" because of its potential as an incredible power source for things like space travel since apparently the material can't exist outside of the star let alone in a stable form if it did somehow.
