re: DELL Chinese factory...

Of course, you know we will also hear, "But the poor teeming Chinese millions can't afford to buy DELL." To which one might reply:

a) they are not all poor,
b) those who can manage to buy a computer will have a tendency not to stay poor,
c) the Chinese people have a work and education ethic second to none -- and I suspect that most Chinese college students would rather have a computer than a car, (????just like in the US????),
d) the government isn't poor (who is one of DELLs largest US customers?)
e) and if I were a Chinese government official, I would be seriously looking at a way to subsidize purchases for individual citizens. (though I grant there are some political problems inherent with that)

On the con side, the Chinese government has not established a terrific track record as far as keeping promises with Western businesses...

We shall see!
