What happened was the Lovebugs of Delusions took over the party. Somehow, they have convinced themselves that not only are the majority of Americans itching to become a white nationalist, ethno-state loosely modeled on Israel, but that it can be done, plus reshaping the global economy to one that pays tribute to the US for the honor of selling us crap, with little or change to the business environment.If anything, the economy will takeoff like a scalded cat, like it always does under crony capitalism.
Now, as the Lovebugs spatter against the Windshield of Reality and the predictable occurs, they are retrenching, doubling down and spinning like dervishes. Massive attempts are being made to edit reality. And they are flexing what muscles they have in beating down opposition and shooting messengers.
Which never ends well. At best, they can keep it up for a few decades. But those cases have been in small countries with a limited history of democracy and zero influence on the global economy. Factor in that they are operating on a very compressed schedule, some things should still be months or years in the future, but are already being carried out. And then there is the tiny problem of taking the US economy offline for the restructuring. That can work for, I dunno, Argentina. Not so sure it can work in the US.
But, I guess we will see.
