Natural Gas update.
Since we last discussed this, I remodeled my kitchen and added a gas range to go with the electric countertop convection oven I mostly use. My GF, with my help, decided to buy a Lexus hybrid and LOVEs it, and I just replaced my Trane gas furnace with the latest new model.
You are correct that fossil fuels won't vanish overnight despite the strong efforts SOME here in nearby liberal Palo Alto and future president Newsom (ha ha!) are trying to accomplish.
Palo Alto tried to shut down a major restaurant going into a Macy's building that was set up for natural gas before they tried to ban it. The famous restaurant sued the city and won so they can make their famous food with natural gas stoves and ovens used to develop the recipes.
AI is sure helpful.... thanks Gemini!
May 17, 2023 A celebrity chef's new restaurant at the Stanford Shopping Center faced a potential setback due to Palo Alto's new natural gas ban. Chef José Andrés' restaurant, Zaytinya, relies on traditional cooking methods that require gas appliances, and the city's requirement for all-electric buildings threatened the project. The shopping center owner, Simon Property Group, threatened to sue if the gas line was not permitted, but a settlement was reached allowing the restaurant to use natural gas. mv-voice.com
It's 2Q 2025 opening is still delayed simon.com which shows just how hard it is to build anything around here even if its sales taxes will bring a ton of money to the city! This shows the price performance of SPX relative to Natural Gas since 5/22/2024

With Trump's "Drill baby drill" mantra, how low do you think NG will go on this cycle? Maybe we should ask Breeze to do an eWave prediction...

What seems "new" is the demand needed to power AI data centers.
Before that, we heard about the power needed to run Crypto mines and transactions, but I can't remember the last time I read or heard about how much energy crypto consumes.
Newsom still has a ban on ICE autos I think in 10 years... 2035 |
