Duane,

I agree the Koreans need money to stay in the Dram business let alone to move into the ASIC business. First of all, Greenspan seems to be willing to personally write that check with his support of IMF funds to Korea.

Second, I am not as concerned with Korea as with Japan and maybe more so with Taiwan. They are also heavy into DRAM and not making money. The MO for DRAM manufacturers is to get the hell out and into something more viable...hence they are all thinking the same idea...ASIC business...less competition and higher margins.

Can they do it...I don't know...maybe some will. Just see many news articles on similar issues so I am posting. Somebody obviously knows something we don't know b/c LSI is looking very sick again...and I am sure Greenspan didn't help today.

Good Luck Trading
