Ok, that's all fine and interesting, but if they can only charge 35% gross margin for their products, it's either NOT in high demand, or it's NOT very difficult to make.

Gross margins in tech is the general indicator of how valuable and in short supply the product is.

And execption is software or social media, where it's often an indicator of monopoly). But in hardware (components), if you can only charge 35% gross margin, it's not that complex.

Semiconductor makers who make crappy highly competitive products can charge a higher gross margin.
