I'm just being a realist.

Whatever anyone thinks of AOC, she brought transparency into the job in a way few had before her. Justin Amash 15-years ago was another one who was radically transparent.

Young people relate to authenticity and passion. I mean, she couldn't really afford to live in DC on her salary. That's why many people in the House of Representatives live in their offices. Adjusted for inflation, their salaries are about 33% less than they were the last time they got a bump in pay.

I don't think AOC understands economics other than her own personal financial situation, and she has many other shortcomings that just come from lack of experience, whether it is executive experience, foreign relations, or understanding business.

However, for a large group of disenfranchised people, she is someone that relates to their experience.

I mean, how many other former waitresses are serving in Congress?
