THE reason why Canadians are kept in the dark about negotiations with the USA is because the Carney negotiating team's mandate is to ensure the net zero anti oil and anti nat gas policies and legislation survive.
All of it is incompatible with trade with the USA as one of the underlying policies is Canada's carbon tariff on all imports from countries whose carbon and net zero legislation is not on par with Canada. This will result in a total failure of negotiations, leading to PM Carney declaring an economic state of emergency, using extra ordinary powers to forcibly transition Canadians to his net zero dystopian hell. In the interim, there are no fat rebels, however, many Canadians will be getting skinny and cold very soon and that will lead to some very interesting times.
