We're 90 miles from the NC coast. Needless to say, many around here are watching this storm closely.
We've had soaking rains the last month, so the ground is saturated. The last thing we need is anything like this. Fortunately it still looks like it will move between the Outer Banks and Bermuda.
From category one to category five in a day. This is going to be something to watch, just for the physics!

Hurricane Erin is now a rare Category 5. Next week, the storm is forecast to at least double or triple in size

I hope the many cruise ships bound for Bermuda, and fishing boats can get out of the way!
