upgraded my iphone a week ago and spent about 10 hours debugging apple car play and why my phone was working, not working, working, then not working.

so many little things messed up about the mercedes car play implementation. Hidden buttons to check, setting to redo, etc.

After a couple of hours I finally figured it all out.

In mercedes, you use bluetooth to just welcome you to car play. so you pair your phone with the car, and it shows up in bluetooth connections. But then starts the interesting stuff. wihtin 30 seconds, the car signs into your wifi link and does all car play through the wifi and disconnects your bluetooth. that one tok me a half hour to figure out.

Now the second biggest issue is that when you disable one phone and get a new one two things need to happen.

1. change phone name or it will seek out old phone.
2. find settings on iphone for car play and forget car. This one was not mentioned in any menus, online stuff, etc, so it took me a couple of hours of head scratching to get it.

After doing these two extra steps, it all works fine. Mercedes didn't know, Verizon didn't know, apple didn't know.
