You might check, but I believe Greenblatt said hold for a year then sell.

In my experience, it's not like you are finding and buying these companies all at once. More like spread out over time.

I read that Greenblatt does something now like rank thousands of companies every day, buys a number of the top ranked, and shorts a number of the lowest, least favorable. And he adjusts, but I don't recall how often.
