I know we are nitpicking but I am forced to correct the language in your response. You state Serious Assault (No Deadly Weapon) is similar to simple assault but with two additional characteristics:
  • You make actual physical contact with the officer; and
  • You did so with the intent to commit another felony.

The operator should be "or", not "and".

The text of 18 U.S.C. § 111(a) clearly states that "a person who forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with a designated federal officer shall:
  • Be fined or imprisoned not more than 1 year (simple assault) if the acts constitute only simple assault (typically threats or intimidation without physical contact).
  • Be fined or imprisoned not more than 8 years if such acts involve physical contact with the victim or the intent to commit another felony."
In addition, you seem to have abandoned your wrong assertion about fists and sandwiches. You're totally out of your league when discussing legal issues. Stick to chips and circuit boards.
