US Senator Sanders favors Trump plan to take stake in Intel and other chipmakers | Reuters share.google

Sen. Warren also supports some type of government stake in exchange for taxpayer funds. A convergence of the left and right on this issue?

Maybe also take a stake in NVIDIA and ARM rather than 15% off the top for sales to China?

Art, is this the first tentative move to a Sovereign Wealth Fund?

If the government would be a true silent partner - no BOD seat, non-voting stake, all government contracts awarded on a level playing field - the taxpayer gets an interesting investment. I never really understood the concept of shoveling money to these behemoths without an upside potential.
