Gregor and Jane,

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. It seems that Gregor and I started with Christ under somewhat of the same circumstances.

I thought I'd bring up a subject that pertains to the title of the thread. I've never really had much money before and have never tithed. I have consciously saved up money to be given as a tithe, but I haven't given it to any organization yet. I have a couple of questions that I hope are addressed Biblically.

1. Does the Bible discuss anything about it being wrong for me to hold the money in my checking account, instead of giving it away as soon as I get it?

2. Does the Bible discuss whether the tithe goes directly to the church as compared to other Christian organizations or the poor?

3. What do you guys think about getting maximum tax benefits by holding a tithe longer than you need to?

I'm not sure if I'm trying to tell God how to use His money by holding it too long or pulling tax gimmicks. What does everyone think about this?

God's love,

Grant
