Pocotrader, all the MAGA idiots who claim that Trump solved the fentanyl crisis don't know WTF they're talking about.

You can't control fentanyl from the supply side. Unlike cocaine, which is a grown drug, fentanyl is a purely synthetic drug. The ingredients needed to come up with tons of doses can be shipped in low volumes.

The ONLY way to deal with fentanyl is from the demand side. Get treatment for addicts. Fix the homelessness crisis (and stop treating homelessness as if it's a problem with housing supply, because it isn't). Enforce the laws on the books. Have local and state police departments trained on the fentanyl crisis and how to deal with overdose cases.

One more thing. Tom Clancy already illustrated how futile it is to fight the War on Drugs from the supply side. Just read Clear and Present Danger (or watch the movie). Other movies like Traffic also illustrate very well the futility of fighting the war on drugs without addressing demand.

Trump, of course, doesn't give a shit about any of that. He's living in the past where the original War on Drugs ramped up. He's thinking that we didn't fight that war hard enough. Kind of like socialists who believe socialism never really was tried, Trump believes the War on Drugs never really was fought.
