Abuse / Misuse of hospital emergency services in Canada is out of control. I recall an article (can't find it right now) that 80% of hospital emergency visits are unnecessary. Hospital emergency departments have become VERY expensive walk-in clinics. There was a movement some time ago to charge people with nonsense ailments (mis)using these services. I guess the "we are entitled" crowd killed it.
