OT just something to b.s. about.

I've been in a lot of places, big foreign cities & my general thinking of being is that American cities are not safe & healthy.
So, being familiar with Seattle I'll use it as an example. I return there for a short while.

What came first, homeless or drug user?
One does not necessarily equate with the other... it's not one & the same.

For me, public drug users should be arrested. I have few sympathies. My argument.. why blame China for fentanyl or Mexico/ Canada
transit for our U.S. cities failings on controlling bad behavior for the safety & benefit of all citizens.
As a 'fore- instance', I googled Seattle.. Sept'23 article.
Seattle City Council passes law to prosecute drug use, possession
courts.wa.gov

The reality of Seattle's situation, it's a weak law. I again googled..
"While downtown Seattle is generally safe... it's wise to avoid certain areas like 3rd Avenue between Pike and Pine..."
google.com

Weird.. 3rd & Pike is only a short 2city block walk from Pike Place Market.
A generic "okay, but don't do anything stupid" precludes Seattle still is not safe.
The reality is that Seattle is relatively void of downtown visitors, day or night. The taxpaying city merchants are suffer. The drug users do what
drug users want.. open use.

I venture to say most drug users in Seattle are not local.. they come from elsewhere because the lax enforcing of city laws.
Why Trump's/ Biden's & prior, avoidance of enforcing drug user laws can make living or visiting American cities personally threatening/ city uneconomic.
