Trump says government will make deals like Intel stake 'all day long' Why is he bragging about taking a massive stake in a declining legacy chip business? It's sort of a "flush the money down the toilet" thing unless somehow Intel turns it around and dominates in semi fabrication such that they can beat AMD + TSMC in making processors. Processors? They go into PCs and servers, right? The leading edge is AI accelerators and high bandwidth memory, not processors for old school PCs and servers. Processors are sort of heading toward commodity status (if they're not already there). Next he's going to take a 10% stake in ...... Western Digital's disk drive business? Cuz, you know, that was exciting 25 years ago!
