This article caught my eye: National dog guide program at ‘make or break moment’

A $80 Mil facility to turn out 250 service dogs a year? Even stretched over twenty years this is $16,000 per dog and that does NOT account for millions and millions in operating expenses.

I love dogs and their ability to help people in need but aren’t these costs way beyond “stupid land”?
