MMA - below is a short interview that gets the viewer up to speed on what's happening. MMA has like 4 different domes targets in Zambia and the two most exciting ones are getting the drill treatment now. You've got Dumbwa with its copper sulphide target and you've got Kazihba with its copper oxide.
Dumbwa appears to be analogous to Barrick's huge Lumwana - and no one expects Dumbwa to be Lumwana LOL!!!!!!, but it looks good. What Lumwana and Dumbwa have in common is COO Dr. Kevin Bonel.
Kevin Bonel – COO, Zambia
Dr. Bonel, P. Geo is an experienced independent geologist and exploration manager. He has over 25 years of geological experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, most recently with Barrick Gold’s operations at the Lumwana Mine, located directly west of Midnight Sun’s Solwezi Project. He led the exploration team at Lumwana which completed a technical re-evaluation of the Lubwe copper deposit, bringing the deposit to the Pre-Feasibility Stage within 12 months, and made the discovery of a brand-new deposit, the combination of which added 25 years of reserves to the mining operation. Dr. Bonel also made the mine site discovery of the Kamaranda copper deposit at Lumwana. Prior to his work with Barrick, he managed exploration of Freeport McMoRan’s copper exploration project in Kabompo, Zambia. He was a member of the Kisanfu copper-cobalt pre-feasibility and feasibility leadership team in the DRC, and he oversaw the reinterpretation of the Munali nickel deposit in Zambia, which is now in production. He is credited with the discovery of the Mpemba Hill Ni-Cu-PGE deposit in Malawi, and the discovery of a new copper deposit near Mpongwe, Zambia.
Barrick NR on Lumwana (July 2025 Nr)
LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Construction of the $2 billion Super Pit Expansion Project at Barrick Mining Corporation’s (NYSE:B)(TSX:ABX) Lumwana mine is well underway, accelerating its transformation into a Tier One copper mine.
“When we reviewed the Lumwana mine in 2019, it was high-cost and underperforming. Today, it’s a growing force in African copper. With this expansion gaining momentum, Lumwana is on course to join the world’s list of large and strategically important copper mines, and a powerful driver of growth for both Zambia and Barrick,” Bristow said.

At 3:50 of this 6:00m interview Adrien talks about Kazihba and the potential for a near term CF deal. All the costs capital and operating would be borne by FM. Transport is just 6KM by the haulage road to FM's giant Kansanshi mine. MMA would get the royalty cheque. Adrien told me at VRIC that they have a gentleman's agreement on % which is not to say that whatever it is % is the deal, but it just tells us that they're serious and it sounds straightforward to me: FM needs copper oxides to use up the sulphuric acid or it has to pay to dispose of it. MMA's got the copper oxides and it's sitting there right on the surface at Kazhiba (as well as Mitu).
