Good point, aj. You’re right. Using overlapping 20 week periods lowers the study’s reliability. The effect is the same as having fewer cases. All such studies are probabilistic. No one knows the future. But still - when every available 20 week “VIX crash” was followed by remarkably consistent positive outcomes, this suggests that there may be something real behind it. IMO, worth paying attention. We also had a Marty Zweig Breadth Thrust, and a couple of interesting Wayne Whaley setups. They all suggest the same. But, neither separately nor combined, they offer no guarantees :)
