Frank --
I didn't buy CIEN, thank goodness. I saw it tumbled again today. I do have JDS Fitel and don't know how it closed.
I mentioned Galileo earlier, but you might want to take a look at Applied Micro Circuits (AMCC) also. Besides all their other products, they're targetting the silicon germanium market --- which will eventually surprass gallium arsenide.
They have $3.7M in registration right now and started the road show today. I don't know how this will affect the stock. May want to put it on a watch list.

Their biggest customer is Nortel and Alcatel "may catch up." Others are CSCO, NN. HWP, CPQ, DEC, and TXN, to name a few.
AMCC "designs, develops and manufactures high-performance ICs for communication infrastructure. Products offered for the telecommunications markets address SONET/SDH and ATM transmission standards, and products for the data communications markets address Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, and Fibre Channel transmission standards."
Let me know what you think on either of these.
