Yesterday I listened to an interview with a scientist who prescribed precisely the type of humility I mentioned as a way to get out of the antiscience agenda promoted by ideologues such as the poster I was responding to. Serious;y, why would anyone listen to this guy instead of intelligent well-educated scientists who have devoted their lives to understanding climate and weather using the scientific method which provides truth without respect to ideology or individual opinions? If we applied his type of approach to medicine or engineering a lot of people would die, and unfortunately, the same is true if people in authority apply his approach to climate and weather. It is not just a a matter of debate, it is people's lives and livelihoods on the line. Would you allow people to use this forum promote fake medications which will cause people to die? That's why I made that post. LC
