Tech giant Apple has partnered with India's largest service provider, Reliance Jio, to enable Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging on iPhones, according to media reports. This will allow Jio subscribers on iPhones to send and receive RCS texts with high-resolution media over mobile data or Wi-Fi at no additional cost.

Collaboration with Jio, India's largest service provider with over 494 million subscribers, will help in pushing the uptake of RCS messaging in the country. Growing adoption of RCS messaging can potentially affect Meta-owned WhatsApp's supremacy in the country. Currently, India is one of the largest markets for WhatsApp with over 500 million users.
