There were many tragedies though of course nearly all were not noticed as the tragedies turned private. CenturyLink has turned into Lumen and has nearly gone bust, with share price now at $1.50 down from $50 and great dividends. A Silicon Investor acquaintance Kelly Kameyer who visited Auckland 20 years ago ended his life on returning to USA as he was bankrupt from tax on his investment in JDSUniphase but the share price crashed so he had the liability but no means of payment. He and I had a nice day. A trip to Rangitoto Island on a ferry and hike to the summit. A nice lunch at Otto's restaurant. He was quite desperate with his situation. Of course he had other psychological problems too as these things are not simple. But the overbearing problem was his financial situation. People do tend to be over-confident in their ideas. It's a trap for very intelligent people who have been accustomed to being the smartest person they know. Throw in some ego and the trap is set. Having three of four wins in share trading and they start to believe they have the special magic touch. We're all in the It aka AI trap now. The trap is springing. Looks as though USA is going to rule the world, or, more accurately, Grok or a little gang of them and their human helpers. Russia has a winning position now. China can help them hold the line. Something is going to happen. Maybe the nuclear weapons will all be destroyed - unfortunately all at once somewhere where they aren't. That's going to give It aka AI something to think about. It aka AI won't be happy with that but might be too late to stop it. Mqurice
