Heading back down to $2.22
That isn't the flex you think it is.

Gas prices went down to $2.22 in 2020 not because Trump increased production with a wave of his tiny hand, but because of the sharp drop-off in demand due to the pandemic.

The only way Trump can get prices back down to that level is through another recession. There is no way Trump can increase production of oil to levels that will drop the prices of gas back down to the $2.22/gallon level, because it's simply not profitable.

Not even if Trump opens up every single square inch of American land (and quasi-American land) to drilling.

Not even if Trump invades Greenland and starts opening up drilling on that big icy island.

So much for "drill baby drill" ...
