The key is always learning from one's mistakes, also the mistakes of others, and the introspection required. It's psychological and mental but for most it's often emotional. If ruled by emotion forget about it! You know this well, but most people don't.

In the old days, and I'm younger than you, AI was neural networks. I worked on some while pretending to be a college student. :-) Even in my day (get off my lawn! :-) few if anyone had a clue of the processing power and hardware arms race that would come and they would have been shocked. Say what? Moore's Law for sure but the shift from CPU based to parallel GPU based.

There are two trains of thought on AI, and this is an oversimplification. One is it will rapidly envelope many aspects of life soon to shock most of us, and obviously LLMs aren't that. The other is that as awesome as this current spending arms race is, there still aren't any amazing apps that most can use. The spending cycle or other biz or economic cycles peak and then we get to see who was naked when the tide rolls out and can they actually make any real profits once the hard times hit? Not unlike the the dotcom 1.0 boom and all the fiber laid then. It took years for even a small portion of it to be used. I guess Amazon and Netflix streaming is dotcom 2.0?

Thoughts?
