It is not in nvidia’d interest for AI hyperscalars to use less hardware. And these guys don’t seem to be too smart. The first time deepseek came along and published papers, there were key innovations described below the Cuda layer. I haven’t seen American hyperscalars publish any innovations - not even sure that they care. They just charge businesses a ridiculous amount - FORCE small businesses to pay for AI they don’t use or care about. There must be an antitrust lawsuit just for that!
