<<Strictly hindsight observation, but couldn't Edmund or Noam have seen that this would occur (the overreaction) and maybe have stressed more strongly the purposeful nature of the inventory buildup, that being a greater aspect of the percentage increase than the dropoff in OEM sales?>>

My take is that:

1) Management was distracted by the effort and timing of the Xyplex acquisition.

2) They are of course so close to their situation (they WANTED inventories higher and the longer International payment times are just a fact of life) that they didn't realize that the street would view these as major "red flags".

3) The ANALysts should have been astute enough to realize that they are dealing with a company that ALWAYS MEETS OR EXCEEDS. They totally ignored the statement of "healthy sequential increase again in Q1" and only focused on what they perceived were problems.

4) The ANALysts show themselves to not have the sense or understanding that God gives a two year old - and for this the street pays them 6 figure salaries. The amount of networking "technical" knowledge they displayed in that CC wouldn't fill a thimble (well maybe if I took my finger out first).

5) MRVC has now as much as said they will meet $1.24 for 1998, so even an ANALyst should be able to find a pencil (hopefully holding the eraser end up) and figure out that 1998 earnings should be close to $0.27, $0.29, $0.32, $0.35, with revenues rising faster in Q2-Q4 due to Xyplex and larger sales staff.

6) Where is BEST? They handled the secondary. Why not even 1 question in the CC? I better see an ANALyst report from them on the wires today or I'll be upset.

7) Yes, there HAS to be a bounce back. There was no reason for MRVC falling off a cliff and an almost guarantee of $1.24 for 1998 should help a lot.

8) This got a lot of visibility. There has to be SOME astute street people somewhere (perhaps thats asking too much) that can see thru to the nugget of Gold that MRVC really is.
