I like your idea of let everyone else pay the taxes and we live for free. Where do I sign up for this? <grin>

Do you follow the Star Trek shows and how they supposedly went full socialist/communist where everyone does the job they want that makes them happy while still having to play politics to get the best jobs? I believe they don't even have currency. Do you think the people serving food (or loading the replicators) and doing the cleaning get the same size cabin and privileges that the captains get? I doubt the miners going off to remote planets to mine dilithium crystals to power the society would do that without the promise of a huge reward relative to watching Netflix and getting high all day in a cubicle with a Hallodeck to give all the "real experiences" they need. Anyway, the show had/has some interesting ideas but most are not fully explained or consistent.

I think society needs to reward success that helps society and we need to find a good way to do it that is fair.

BTW, in a real Libertarian society, one might argue that having kids hurts the planet and uses too many resources so parents should be taxed MORE but we tax them less as if Bob and I and other childless people benefit from kids being educated to work long after we are gone... AI may decide what is best for nature is NO PEOPLE and we'll have a real Terminator movie.
