2025 will be the first year since 2020 the US will lose population. In 2020 it was due to excess deaths from Covid. This year it is due to negative net immigration, birthrates lower than replacement, and lots of geezers croaking. GDP growth typically equals population growth plus productivity growth. One of those pillars has been eliminated by new policies.
