Surprise, the US has lost manufacturing jobs the last 3 months, something that's been happening on a near constant basis since 1955 when 55% of American workers had manufacturing jobs.

The economy lost 12,000 manufacturing jobs in August after losing 2,000 jobs in the sector in July and 17,000 in June, the Labor Department reported. Manufacturing employment has been declining since 2023, continuing a longer term trend going back to the 1980s.

Nothing is going to change this trend, particularly with increased automation. People don't think that one of the reasons there were so many manufacturing jobs back in the 50's is because we bombed so many countries back to the stone age in the 40's.
