Anyone else starting to see "QUALCOMM" more and more. I went to Best Buy looking for a new tablet (swtiching for IPad). Although its an older version I was interested in the Samsung S9. I knew there were 2 versions, one with Samsungs chip and one with the Snapdagon chip which was $100 more, but I played dumb waiting to see what his sales pitch would be for both. "Why pay $100 more for the same tablet?" For years I've been the one to politely educate sales people on Qcom. This guy went straight to educating me on the necessity of the Snapdragon chip for the AI apps present and future. He took me to a glass case where there was a Snapdragon chip enclosed and displayed prominently by the resgister, looking like a trophy. I stayed in character and told him I was sold and definitively wanted the tablet with the Snapdragon.
Coincidently, the Samsung had no headphone jack so I needed wireless headphones, so later that day I go online to research them. I'm pretty picky about sound quality so I begin my search with that constraint. The search leads me to headphones that brag that they have Qualcomm chips inside that improve sound quality. In the past I've seen headphones companies pushing their higher sound quality before, but never ads actually naming Qualcomm as the reason their sound quality is better.
I dont know if all Best Buys have that Snapdragon trophy case but if any of you are passing by one, stop in and take a look. You'll get a kick out of it.
