My friends in Israel as well as the headlines I see agree with you that the majority of Israelis are opposed to Netanyahu and to what is going on both in Gaza and the West Bank. But Bibi hangs on due to the absurdity of the Israeli political system and his ability to mollify enough people in the Knesset to muster a majority in any vote of confidence.

It is a repulsive system that gives way too much power to minorities but for that same reason it will be difficult to impossible to replace. If someone like Bibi can stitch together 3 or 4 minority parties, he can hang on to power despite majorities that may oppose him. I suppose could call it a parliamentary form of gerrymandering. It is especially dangerous in a highly fractured society like Israel, composed of so many different national cultures despite most people being Jewish.
