When it is slow, try another server. Five or six are usually the fastest due to the low graphics. Or get their dial up software are use that. Or, just say "screw the web" and pick up the phone and place the order through a broker and tell them internet is too slow right now, can't get through, give me $12 rate please.
I don't recall any confirmed orders dissappearing without a trace, however, I have heard others had this problem. You must record or better yet, print out the confirmation page and number. This number is key in tracking things down.
I have, however, had a trade executed and confirmed but then removed later in the day as they said it was executed at a bad price (bought the stock at a price it never really traded that low in the day) They pulled the trade and it showed executed, total quanity traded 0. Looked quite strange.
I also had them correct margin interest when they were very slow to pair off shorts with longs and I basically had two positions out there.
Dividends have been ok, but they sure do have some strange wys of posting things sometimes and it has looked very confusing on those statements. I usually called them up for a "play by play" explanation of all the transactions when a dividend or something looked odd.
But, mistakes can happen and you must watch theirs or anyone's statement carefully each month. I know it is coinfusing, but if you trade as much as I do you need to check everything.
