50 Years ago I was sent on a junket to UT Austin to spend two weeks studying how useful developing fusion would be. Saw interesting things like lazers shooting at hydrogen, and a Tokamak machine (which made your hair stand up when it fired), along with the blue glow of the University's fission reactor.

I also thought it wasn't going anywhere soon, but it did make me determined to attend UT where I studied software and engineering , which turned out to be a good choice for the next few decades.
