PORT ORFORD, Ore. — A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck more than 100 miles off the Oregon Coast Monday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake occurred about 102 miles west of Port Orford shortly after 9 p.m.

Several aftershocks followed in the same area, ranging from magnitude 4.4 to 4.9, according to the agency. The most recent was recorded around 4:47 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials said the quake is not expected to cause a tsunami.
