I third your opinion. Despite that Ameritrade
just updated their servers, I absolutely did not
see any improvement. Slow confirmation, slow execution,
and frequent, very frequent, breakdown during trading
hours.
I tried once to call them. The automatic voice warned that
the average waiting time is 10 minutes. In fact, I had to
wait approx. 35 minutes! It was killing me.
Very unprofessional people.
