As of the end of June 2025, investors bought 95 million ounces of silver via silver-backed Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs). This substantial demand has already surpassed the total ETP investment for all of 2024. Additional details on investor silver demand in 2025: Indian demand is strong, with retail investment in bars and coins growing by 7% year-over-year in the first six months of 2025. U.S. retail investment has declined by at least 30% so far this year. This is partly due to profit-taking after higher silver prices and reduced safe-haven buying compared to previous years. European retail demand is recovering, though it still lags behind the elevated levels of 2020–2022. Institutional interest is growing, with net long positions on the CME up 163% by June 24, 2025, compared to the end of 2024. ETP holdings reached 1.13 billion ounces by June 30, 2025, reflecting increasingly bullish price expectations.
