AJ's car beat the crap out of me today. I spent maybe 2-hours yesterday and today trying to slide in his new CV Axle. I did some more checking, and I found out on his car, you need to slide it in with a certain clip seal facing down. The video showing this had about 150 comments from people just like me talking about how many hours they spent attempting this only to find out there is a special way to install it on this make and model vehicle.

Anyway, I tried this special way for about 20-minutes, and it still wasn't working. Meanwhile, a tiny seal came out when I pulled the shaft out. Turns out, part of the inner seal on the transmission came out. If that had been pushed into the transmission instead of coming out with the CV shaft, I'd have a ruined tranny.

Anyway, I bought a new complete seal unit, and I hope to swap that out and have success tomorrow. I have to finish that car and Gladiator Daughter's car tomorrow. Now my neighbor wants me to do a brake job for them. Why they want me to do this instead of trade derivatives for them is beyond me <G>
