Re: DELL v. GTW v. MUEI. I am impressed with Gateways' campaign to the home consumer. It seems to me that Dell's TV ads are dry and relate to equipment and price, whereas Gateway's relate to price and are folksy, too. Every Monday, when I drive to work through my subdivision, I see a couple of cow pattern boxes set out for the trash collector by my neighbors, indicating to me that they've taking delivery of a new Gateway. For dry, unappealing ads, checking out the Micron ads in the computer magazines. I'd like to see both GTW and MUEI survive. I've had a Micron Millenia Transport portable for two years and abused it in just about every way possible. It just keeps on doing its job. It better than any other portable box I've seen. The one time I called Micron with a question, I was answered on the first ring and the technician knew his stuff.

Nevertheless, I don't invest in GTW and MUEI because DELL is the only boxmaker that just keeps going up.
