The final movie chapter of "Downton Abbey" was better than I expected. Previous installments left me hoping their tenant farmers would show up at the doors with torches and pitchforks to tear down the obviously useless and entitled aristocracy.

This last part of the story took everyone upstairs down a few notches and chronicled the rise in various ways of the downstairs staff. Knowing that one family occupying a giant building was pretty much doomed from this point on (not to mention what WW2 would do to them in a decade) put it all in context.

The actual story of Highclere Castle is much the same as the place fell apart, and the current earl lived in a cottage on the grounds until fame from the TV show brought in the tourist bucks.

RIP entitled folks.
