GalaGen just announced their annual results and talked a little bit about Basics Plus. Excerpt from their press release:

"We have made important progress recently in preparing for a broader nutritional products initiative which should set the stage for future growth," said Robert A. Hoerr, M.D., Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of GalaGen. "We are extremely enthusiastic about the recent launch of BasicsPlus(TM)." In December 1997, the company introduced BasicsPlus, a dietary supplement product, in conjunction with its marketing and manufacturing partner, Lifeway Foods. BasicsPlus is the first product to emerge from the collaboration with Lifeway Foods, and contains active beneficial kefir cultures and GalaGen's Proventra(TM) Brand Natural Immune Components. GalaGen prepares Proventra from the first milk of dairy cows. BasicsPlus is the first dairy-based dietary supplement sold in the United States in the refrigerated section of health food stores and grocery stores, and is currently in test markets in Chicago, New York City and Milwaukee. The product was featured in the February 1998 issue of Dairy Foods Magazine.

I am looking into the article in Dairy Foods Magazine now. I think I will be able to get it.

I like the way the CEO of GalaGen didn't say that they were just enthusiastic about Basics Plus but 'Extremely Enthusiastic'.
