US Secretary of State Marco Rubio endorsed Israel’s new offensive in Gaza City and backed its goal to eradicate Hamas during a visit to Jerusalem on Monday, reaffirming America’s “unwavering support” for its ally even as President Donald Trump has urged restraint after Israel carried out air strikes on Hamas leaders in Qatar last week.
